The unit of force is the Newton (N), named after Sir Isaac Newton. But how much is 1 Newton?
Think of it this way: holding a small apple (about 100g) in your hand requires a force of roughly 1 Newton to keep it from falling. So, 10 Newtons is like holding a 1kg packet of sugar. It helps to have a mental picture!
